That is sad... FD was one of the best at giving advice and telling things in a way not to offend anyone...

I can honestly say that I wished my son would have had the opportunity to be coached by FD...

Atleast we have his PM for those inpromtu advice seekers, like me! FD, you've kept it straight forward with your advice you've posted and I wish more coaches were like you!!! Good Luck this season!

I appreciated FD's post but he recently offered some very detailed info regarding his selection process for the HS team. Things about telling some players they would not play but were not being cut and such. Things about a young pitcher and his conversations with the player and his parents.

When I read those posts, I wondered what his players, their parents, and school administrators might think about those public comments. Clearly those with the program knew who he was talking about. You gotta wonder if it was wise or proper to post that level of detail and insight about your team. Honesty with a player and the parents is one thing. Opening the kimono to all is another. I'm not being critical just saying.....

I might agree to an extent. If I recall right, the pitcher that you are speaking about is a Freshman, correct? Fd's discussion was concerning the young man's ability to play Varsity as a fish. I thought his explanation was right on, and I believe that the player also agreed with FD, once he had a chance to see the current Varsity pitching staff.

It might have gotten too personal from someone's standpoint. However, I will right it off to "thin skin", not a good asset for a ballplayer or his parents. IMHO.

I REALLY liked reading funnelldrill's posts. I don't post on here a lot but I read almost everything and there are several posters I specifically seek out and funneldrill was one of them.

Let me tell ya something this is simply more of the PC, lib crowd wanting to control everything. I never read anything posted by FD that could be construed as personal. That's utterly ridiculous. The libs in this world are growing far too bold.

I understand FD's decision. It saddens me to see the liberal establishment of academia able to, so easily, impinge the rights of a FREE American citizen.
