Would you have to play only five innings games, or could you play five in the first round, and then have the games go to seven innings? We can start as early as 11:00 and play to 10:30. There are only five teams in the tournament. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have a love and passion for this game, and I want to be a great coach!!!

Not sure how you could play a 5 team double elimination that would make sense and be fair to all 5 teams.

Even a 4 team double elimination would take 6 games. Actually 7 games if a team out of loser bracket wins first championship game.

A team losing their first game would have to play 5 games in one day to win the tournament.

Timing wise… It is very possible with two fields being used for the first 4 games. Once again this is based on 4 teams. 5 teams just doesn’t work very well at all.

Game 1 - 1vs2 at fld A
Game 2 - 3vs4 at fld B
Game 3 - Losers at fld B
Game 4 - Winners at fld A
Game 5 – Winner gm4 vs Loser gm5 at fld A
Game 6 – Winner gm5 vs Winner gm4 at fld A
Game 7 – Same teams if Winner gm4 loses gm6 at fld A

Maybe you should get another team and play a 6 team pool tournament. 3 teams in each pool. Winner of each pool plays one game for championship. 2 game guarantee. 3 games to win it. Of course it would take two fields. The whole tournament would take 4 time slots.

Pool A Played at fld A
1vs2
1vs3
2vs3
Pool B Played at fld B
4vs5
4vs6
5vs6
Championship Game
7 games total, played in 4 time slots.
