Can't believe what I just watched. Cuba vs USA, can't get much bigger in international competition, right? Game is tied at 3 after 10. So, here's what happened in the 11th. No, this isn't Bourbonnais or Lynwood or any other tournament, these are the Olympics. Rules say that the inning begins with each team putting runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Cuba ends up scoring 2 runs while the USA scores 1. Final score,Cuba 5, USA 4. That's right. A tiebreaker used in Olympic baseball!

Could there be any less of a buzz about a USA team than there's been about our baseball team? Shameful.
Yes, no buzz. Maybe because they didn't qualify for Athens or maybe 'cuz baseball is out of the Olympics come London in 2012.

Or maybe, as Ben Sheets said:
“There isn’t any player growing up thinking they want to play in the Olympics,” said Sheets, who won a gold medal in 2000. “That was one of my greatest moments, but it has nothing to do with the big leagues.”

Would be nice to see Olympic baseball back in 2016. Let' see...Wrigley/Comiskey...Comiskey/Wrigley...
The USA learned that in Basketball they better take it seriously or they were in trouble. Look who we sent over to China for Basketball.

The USA Team in The World Baseball Classic didn't have close to the best Americans on the team a few years ago and that was sanctioned by MLB. Why is there no buzz? Because of at least two reasons....1. Who are these players? Only a real baseball junkie would know any of them. 2. Olympic Baseball has not caught on.......and there are too few teams in the world playing at any kind of high level....it really shouldn't be an Olympic Sport, just as softball...too few places where it is played on a high level.

On another note, this shows how overrated Cuban Baseball is .......barely beating a USA Team that isn't even on the radar compared to the talent playing elsewhere in the US.
