I have read threads on the forum (most a few years old) suggesting that recruiting videos should be kept short, like 2-3 minutes. I sent some of those out but now a few recruiting coaches have responded asking for more video. My dad put one together yesterday but it is 16 minutes long. I'm thinking thats too much info? Or is it different when a coach has actually asked for it? Any suggestions? I really need to send these soon. Thanks for any advice.

Well, I didn't get any advice but I did have my dad shorten the video to 10 minutes, (5 min. of bull pens/5 min. of 2 innings played at a tourney last week.) I hope this is ok, since the coach asked me for more video. If any recruiting coaches could advise on this, I'd appreciate it.

Also, if a recruiting coach calls to talk to you about his program on his personal cell phone, is that a good indication of interest or do they call alot of players?
Since you had 195 hits for your post, I think others are intersted, but may not have an answer. Please post back your results, if the coach thought 10 minutes was enough time (or too much). I noticed that the video(s) on a player's PG profile is only SECONDS long, so maybe recruiting coaches can tell alot in only a few at bats or pitches.....and want to see more!
Well, the coach said he liked it and he came to watch me in Marietta, so I guess it was successful. I was hoping to get advice for all of us from recruiting coaches. I still wonder if that's too long, but maybe it's different for every coach. There were so few scouts at our team's games in Ga, that I was happy to have three attend (all from videos I sent). We were undefeated in pool play and only 5-6 scouts total came to see us play all week. I sent out honest, unedited bullpen and innings (only at their request). I've seen edited videos of guys throwing all strikes, but anybody can do that and make themselves look great. I hope some recruiters can post their opinions.
