Hello Everybody, I,m back from a great week of baseball in Omaha, We play 7 gms. in 3 day's.

It's: The Beav's will bounce Back Today.

Great Venue Saw the OSU, Rice Gm. 3, Excellent Gm.

There was a Thunder Shower that went thru on Saturday Morning.
That caused unbearable Humidity.
I Can Imagine what it was like in Rosenblatt Stadium.
Go Beav's.
Its: Ok, I get it now, you are talking about the number of errors, not runs.

As for the umpiring in yesterday's game, I thought it was excellent. Several very close calls they got right - the Kunda ground rule double, the Barney caught stealing - both were a matter of inches, and they got em right.

Especially the Barney call. Usually you tag a base stealer on the butt, unless you are up the line a few feet it is automatic safe. In fact when I saw it I thought they missed the call. But replay showed Barney's hand was a couple inches off the bag at the time of the tag.

Don't know how they got that right, but they did.
This was not the game I expected, but we'll take it.

There's no quit in the Beavers. This was their fifth win facing elimination. One to go.

This team has a lot of heart. When you have a 150 pound closer who pitches five innings in relief, you know its about more than raw talent.

As it should be - a three game series.

Are we convincing anybody out there that there is some baseball talent in the NW?
One of the things I picked up on in Omaha, experience. Previous visits help you to understand what you need to do to get the job done. Some of them including the wind conditions, fielding, heat, how to ignore the attention, etc.
We met some of the players who will be playing on son's cape team one night on the bus back to the hotel. Feisty bunch of players with great attitudes. After their first loss, they were not going to go away without putting up a fight to whoever they faced.

I guess they meant it.

The officiating is the best I have ever seen in any ball game.

Yes tomorrow's game will be very interesting. No Gunderson to close for OSU. Nickerson can't be realistically expected to go deep into the game.

OSU's bullpen will have to be solid, or their bats really hot.

For UNC, their starter will have to go deep, which I guess he is fully capable of.

The sad part for me is I can't watch it. My Blazer deal will have me on a plane and meeting with investors all afternoon.

Hope the Beavs can manage without my helpful assistance!

TPM: Which Cape team is your son going to play for?
Wow...what a game!

My son and I were driving back from Columbia,Mo tonight and my best friend and college roommate from Oregon State Univ. was calling me with updates after each inning. After the third or fourth inning he managed to patch my cell phone through to a radio station in Oregon...what an exciting drive it was through stormy Central Illinois...and the connection was never lost!

We don't have cable so I'm going to have to mooch tomorrow's game from someone with cable.

My...don't the two of us have alot in common!

With my shouting, the less sense it makes the better...keeping 'em real confused is my aim.
It's taken a good deal of hard work and steady perserverance, but I've got it down near perfectly.

Here's a shout out to you to welcome you to the HSBBW. Considering your background it appears that you have much catching up to do! The HSBBW is a great way to catch up on baseball.

The other sports aren't talked about much here and the sport that is so much watched throughout the world and is attracting not only stallions, but also hooligans to Liepzig...that sport is banished from this site.

If you need to catch up on that one I would suggest that you book a tour of Ghana...they seem to know more about the sport there than here in the US of A.

Again, welcome. Sit back and enjoy the game tonight. Shout...shout alot...have fun...and remember...

GO BEAVS!

IMO - Both of these excellent teams deserve to play in that final big one for all the marbles.

Should be alot of fun tomorrow!

Could not agree with you more...should be an excellent game!

What I liked was the little lefty from OSU who was throwing 83-86 mph and shut down NC. All that went through my mind were some of the pitching "size and velocity" issue posts. It's not all about the size, but it is all about effectivnesss. This series is full of good stories.

I was told OSU can intimidate with their speed and that was on display last night in their second big inning. Why was the third baseman backing up on a sac bunt? That seemed like a brainlock. Then, the third baseman makes a good stab of a hard liner and never even considers stepping on the bag for the easy out at third and almost throws it away for the out at second. Two brainlocks on one play.

I think it is a good strategy for OSU to play small ball and see what happens with NC's defense. Of course they'll take the long ball as they got last night as well. I am staying with my pick of UNC but I would not bet who will win tonight's game
Hey Gotwood - that other sport is the S-word isn't it? Not allowed here! And - for whatever reason I agree with the go Beavers! For some reason I've adopted them as my own!

And Beezer - yes the TV is on - they just can't believe I'm getting emotional over a TV baseball game. They are used to me shouting out loud but it's usually about - getting their rooms cleaned.

Thanks to all for a fun place to visit - HSBBW!
