Picking up Nelson Cruz for one year and eight million dollars is a great pickup with little risk. He isn't great in the outfield but as a DH he will provide some protection for Davis.

Just because Nelson Cruz lost us (Texas Ranger fans) the World Series doesn't mean he is a lost cause.

I think Peter found his wallet after all these years. It was underneath his limo seat wedged into between the cushions. If anyone can make an eagle scream on a dollar bill.....it is Peter Angelos!
PS....Question - Don't they have to give up a first round pick even though they just signed to a one year deal? Is that a good idea?
They already gave up their first round pick when they signed Ubaldo Jimenez. They lose a second rounder for this signing, I think around the 55th pick.
