This section could really benefit from a sticky with basic training and nutrition info. There are tons of daily questions that have been answered before many times. The search function doesn't work particularly well in my experience, so I think the board as a whole would be much more efficient with this sticky.

I would be willing to contribute, and I'm sure many other members would be as well. We could also provide links to threads that answer these questions in depth.

We could provide info on such things as:

Diet, both everyday and pre/post game/ workout

Basic Supplementation

Basic Workout Advice

Speed Training

If anyone has other ideas or wants to contribute, post them here or email me @ Jsorb8997@gmail.com.

Adding on to Jsorb's ideas for potential sticky topics, I have quite a few. I think that a few of them can be straight information given that can be uncontested, unless more recent information is available. But, I also think that a few of the stickies can be in the form of debates, as long as the maturity of the people here can be sustained and the debates don't turn into name calling wars. My ideas for stickies include:

- Pro Bench Press vs. Anti Bench Press
- Olympic movements vs. Powerlifting methods
- HIIT for speed vs. other methods of training
- Basic GPP and SPP
- Injury prevention for the shoulder and elbow
- Stretching, Dynamic and Static

I will gladly help contributing to the write-up of a few of these, because I'm not going to lie, I don't know everything. Just send me a PM or an email @ m_podsiadly@yahoo.com and I will willingly help with the formation of these.

sgtdad, specifically, what posts have contained serious amounts of garbage disguised as fact, because I think that by eliminating these myths first, selecting which stickies to write will be much easier.
Thanks guys. I'm going to try to email someone about this...does anyone know who runs this site? If not I can probably figure it out.

This site get an unbelievable amount of hits for the amount of people that post here...another reason why we should make this. There are way too many insignificant threads bumped that hundreds of people read and could get wrong advice from everyday (not meaning to offend anyone).

So far we have:

Jon Doyle
Upstate NY
Myself

If you have something to contribute, feel free.
Unfortunately there are too few distributors of the information, and too many people asking the same question. There seems to be a cycle of people asking how to gain mass/loss fat or which foods are good, and then a group of 5-10 qualified and unqualified people will answer the questions. This is going to take much longer than I expected, and I'm probably going to have a hard time finishing the supplementation 101 page before I leave for vacation in two weeks. I also don't want to put up the supplementation page until someone puts up a nutrition 101 thread, so it may be a while before it is actually posted. One thing I can do is start a basic workout info page, as that is more straight forward than supplementation. I'll email you with the draft when it's complete.

Regardless, there is a definite need for more people who are qualified to answer questions as well as bring a greater wealth of knowledge to the board. I know Jon Davies and Darren Nicholson are great baseball S&C minds, but they typically charge for their resources. Jon would have to look into that because I'm pretty sure they work together. I'm actually pretty sure Darren Nicholson is registered here under the name Dnic, but I haven't seen him post much. I'm not tryig to put Jon on the spot though, anyone with enough knowledge to answer the questions posted here is more than qualified, being a prosfessional S&C coach is not required.

Smile Well, most days, people would say that I do, along with a bunch of hard-working moderators. Other days, we all might really wonder! Confused Roll Eyes

Thanks for the suggestions, and I'll be talking with Jon Doyle and a few others about this.

Enlighten us on this terrible information. One thing that REALLY bothers me here is that everyone wants to ***** but noone wants to contribute. There are like 5 people in this forum who post anything meaningful.

/end rant
