Some of the Ladies' Lounge members know about this already but for those who don't, I just wanted to let you know that my son, Ryan Mottern, sophomore RHP for the OU Sooners, will get a medical redshirt this year because of a recurring arm problem involving his ulnar nerve. He is scheduled for surgery on April 20 to reposition the nerve which will correct the problem in the elbow area.

After rehabbing this summer, he is expected to make a complete recovery and be ready for Fall workouts. The best news is that he will return as a sophomore with 3 years of NCAA eligibility remaining. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks!

Ann

Hey Ann...
Long time,no see...I've been thinking about you and Ryan alot lately...I was wondering why you hadn't been posting recently...I am sorry to hear about Ryan, but I am a firm believer in that "everything happens for a reason"... This to shall pass and Ryan will be BETTER and STRONGER for it!! I just got off the phone with John Wayne...I told him about Ryan and he said to tell Ryan "Hey" and for him to get better quick...He said he hopes to see him in action next year. Take care Ann and Know that our prayers are with Ryan and we are keeping nothing but positive thoughts...Keep us posted.

Cindy and John Wayne
Thanks to everyone for the wellwishes for Ryan. I am pleased to report that his surgery went very well and the doctor is confident that he will be back at 100% next season. He starts rehab in a couple of weeks and will stay at OU this summer to be monitored by his trainer and doctors as he continues his rehab. He most likely will not play any summer ball for the first time in his life but he is looking forward to getting back in shape and getting a fresh start next fall.We are thankful that the problem was caught in time for him to receive a medical redshirt and not waste a year of eligibility. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Cindy,

Tell John Wayne we are pulling for him, also. I'll relay your message to Ryan. Thanks!

Ann
