OU's Mottern Will Get Medical Redshirt

Hi Ann, long time since we have talked! Sorry to hear about Ryan, but I'm one of those who sees the silver lining in the redshirt issue- especially as it really seems to benefit the academic situation.

Definitely will keep Ryan in prayers.

Here's hoping for a speedy and full recovery for Ryan. Having been in kinda' the same situation, I think they come back with a better perspective and are more appreciative of life and the game.

Long time,no see...I've been thinking about you and Ryan alot lately...I was wondering why you hadn't been posting recently...I am sorry to hear about Ryan,but I am a firm believer in that "everything happens for a reason"... This to shall pass and Ryan will be BETTER and STRONGER for it!! I just got off the phone with John Wayne...I told him about Ryan and he said to tell Ryan "Hey" and for him to get better quick...He said he hopes to see him in action next year. Take care Ann and Know that our prayers are with Ryan and we are keeping nothing but positive thoughts...Keep us posted.

Thanks to everyone for the wellwishes for Ryan. I am pleased to report that his surgery went very well and the doctor is confident that he will be back at 100% next season. He starts rehab in a couple of weeks and will stay at OU this summer to be monitored by his trainer and doctors as he continues his rehab. He most likely will not play any summer ball for the first time in his life but he is looking forward to getting back in shape and getting a fresh start next fall.We are thankful that the problem was caught in time for him to receive a medical redshirt and not waste a year of eligibility. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the update. So glad to read that it went well. Hopefully he will get some long week-ends home for Mom's home cooking this summer. Looking forward to reading great things next season.
