You must be thrilled that your son will be playing for Coach Shoop. My brother coached with him years ago at Mississippi State. Also his assistant Perry Roth was an assistant coach for several years when my brother was a head coach here in Illinois. Your son made a great decision. Congratulations.

We are thrilled! He had several opportunities but BSC had everything he (and we) wanted. Great academics, great coaches, established and well respected program, beautiful campus, as well as it is not too far (for us) and not too close (for him)!

Thank you,

I really liked the atmosphere when I went out to their camp. Most of my friends want the hustle and bustle of the big city, but I was looking for a relaxed, slower atmosphere. I think it's going to be a great fit.

Weird coincidence side note: The head coach for Davis (Coach Peters) used to coach at Chapman University (CA) where Joe Tereschuk now coaches who is my high school coaches brother (Pete Tereschuk). Strange thing was, my high school coach had no involvement of UC Davis finding out about me at all. Smile

Thanks. I kind of felt like it was bragging but it's more of a reflection of how proud I am of the kids that worked so hard in our program. I take alot of pride in knowing we are doing it the right way and are a part of their development. We only list guys that have been full-time players and the great majority of our guys live in the northen California area. I've never understood how you can have a team of guys all over the country (hired guns) and feel like you've made an impact on their lives. Oh well- that's another subject for another day.

After years together, Douglas trio part ways
By Gary Curreri
SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT

November 10, 2005

PARKLAND· For the first time since they were 9, Douglas seniors Dave Christensen, Sean Ochinko and Brandon Holden realize they won't always play baseball together.

The trio signed their national letters-of-intent in the school's media center Wednesday morning. Christensen signed with Miami, Ochinko with LSU and Holden with Florida.

The three South Florida Sun-Sentinel Broward All-County players have played together since they were teammates on the Boca Bombers at age 9.

"We all played together for so long, we were talking about going to the same [college]," said Ochinko, who batted .407 last season with 33 RBI. "We were teammates for so long, but now it worked out for the three of us."

"We all grew up playing together, and played exclusively together," said Christensen, who is one of the top student-athletes at the school. He is ranked 88th in his class of 727. He is also the 28th ranked high school prospect in the nation by Baseball America. "It's great to see all three of us sign with three big-time schools on the same day."

Holden, who has been the team's ace since his sophomore year, has had his fastball clocked at 93 mph.

"This is a pretty big day," Holden said. "We have been waiting for this since we started playing ball. It's a done deal. The pressure is off because you know that you will at least be going to a top D-1 school. The only thing better would be to get drafted. That would be the next great day to share with these guys."

Out with 2005 and in with 2006? Are you sure?

I just got a helluva deal at OfficeMax on these 2005 DayPlanners...2 for 1...you telling me I've got two worthless DayPlanners? Have to do something with them...hmmm?

I've got it! I'll spend the time between the holidays filling them in...pretending to have had a real bang up year! This might actually be fun.

I wonder if they have any left...great stocking stuffers!

Wow this is tougher than I thought...anyone have any suggestions for March 14th?...and August 20th?...and October 3rd through the 18th?...and...
