After that I think my coach realized to lay off so much pitching. People gotta remember we're still kids not fully grown..and we're people who aren't invincible so you have to be careful with your body. I almost didn't want to pitch anymore because of the pain but all that is behind me and I don't pitch as much as I used to but now at a pretty good amount.
I'm wondering.. before you had arm problems, 1) did you work with pitching coaches on your mechanics, and 2) did you long-toss?
The following is a general observation, and may not apply to your personal situation..
Overuse is a legitimate worry, but think about it this way. If my car's has an alignment problem, I will "overuse" the tire after about 3,000 miles. With good alignment, maybe 30,000 miles.
The alignment is mechanics. The endurance is the brand of tire.
