I heard from a freind who is close to a Florida Marlin Front Office guy and he said the big story is that The Marlins want Ozzie to come back to Miami and Manage the Fish.

It makes all kinds of sense, given his ties to the organization and their desire to have a Latin Manager. Not only that it would be a graceful way for him to leave Chicago where Kenny and The Chairman aren't real thrilled at the future prospect of covering for Ozzie's very unpolically correct outbursts.

Don't be shocked at this one.

The owner of the Marlins may believe that with an outspoken Latin manager he stands a better chance of getting a new stadium built downtown. As has been shown, no team regardless how good will draw playing in that football stadium. Loria may be a fool if he let's Girardi leave, but I wouldn't put any money into that team either knowing in advance that you'll be playing in an empty stadium.

Guys and Gals

You should listen to soxnole--he is never wrong but having been born and bred in NY ---------

I look at it this way--if they are dumb enough to get rid of Giradi what keeps them from hiring Ozzie the Mouth ???

By the way I am hearing stories about Giradi becoming the Cubbies manager in 2007
Joe Girardi may not be Jim Hendry's first choice, if available, but he will be in a public relations nightmare if he doesn't offer Joe the job. Hendry can soothe the psyches of Cub fans who view Girardi as one of ours. He will be buying himself a lot of goodwill, which he certainly can use, and also getting a smart, young manager that found a way to make chicken soup out of chicken s**t with this years Marlins.

As for Guillen, he hasn't worn out his welcome yet, so in 2007 we can once again be treated to his style of managing and speaking with the media??
