It seems to me that, given the core building nature of the P90X program, it would be good for baseball. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I just don't know baseball-specific fitness well enough to know for sure. But P90X sure looks like it would be a great baseball workout program (start it in November and be ready by February workouts/tryouts).

Despite what the marketing says p90x will not build a high amount of core strength, especially baseball-specific.

However, at least P90x preaches hard work and is a good general fitness program, you just won't get very strong on it. But that is not it's goal. It's more oriented to improve fitness.

With that said, you certainly can do much, much worse.

OK I am going to come out supporting Jon. He gives his time here for no charge and most of what you need to know can be found by searching through the old posts. It's not perfect but a good start for most. Yes it takes time and effort to put together a program for yourself, don't be lazy and just expect him (or anyone else) to spoon feed you with a program for free on a message board.

Yes you can purchase stuff from Jon, this is how he makes his living, there is nothing wrong with this. I have some of his stuff and it is very good and reasonably priced for what you get.

My son's program has been put together through a combination of material from Jon, a speed coach, his HS coach, his pitching coach and other material that I have researched on the web. It has taken me months and many hours of my time to get a program that we think fits his needs. I don't have the time or space to post it here and it is ureasonable for you to think Jon is going to do the same for you.

Get off you lazy a$$ do some homework and you will be rewarded and don't expect to get it without some effort on your part.

OK I will now step off my soap box...

BOF,

All I asked is for some drills. I have my own program in place. I do core workouts, its just he said that you should do core workouts on your feet because you play baseball on your feet. I just wanted to know some core drills that you do on your feet. I personally have never heard of core drills on your feet. I have researched this site and put together my own program. I just wanted to know drills that you do on your feet to strengthen your core. John thanks for the help if you come back. Im not asking for a program just for some examples of core training on your feet. Thank
Philly1012, Just so you know that there are standing core drills. I will name a few, but make sure that you talk with your coach or strength coach if you have one at your school before adding anything into your program!!
1. Woodchops- low or high cable, weighted ball, etc.
2. Standing Bicycles
3. Standing flexion w/ rotation
4.Balance T-bend

Don't just throw things in. Get a good strength assessment first and find out what needs you have to address first. BOF put it nicely when he said to his son used a combination of resources.

All the best in the near future.

Tuff Cuff is a year-round training program for both in-season training and off-season training. It includes core training but includes much more as well. It is based on Steven Ellis's own training programs. Steven ended up in the Cubs organization.
