And I again I offer you Babe Ruth when he hit 60--why was he the only one hitting that many?
Can we use the same logic so many are using today?
Notice also that Palmer says he has "suspicions" and no proof and he doesn't want to indict Anderson---then why even broach the subject if you have no proof ???
Average college player returns from summer ball for his junior year having gained 30 lbs of muscle and huge muscle definition. He freely tells his team-mates he used multi-combinations of anabolic steroids. He also is hitting gigantic bombs constantly when not hitting line drive seeds. He has incredible year, sets all kinds of records, and is drafted, offered a huge contract and signs. The other players have this reaction: why not do it? Look how it worked for him! This makes it so difficult to argue against the use of steroids, when the players won't listen to medical warnings (it'll never happen to me) or moral arguments (everyone's doing it) or legal dangers (most of these drugs can be flushed out of the system in a few weeks). The drugs are easily obtainable and their use is far more widespread than I find people want to admit. TR - what's your take on this? I value your opinion.
If he is openly admitting what he did I cannot see him lasting long long because of the spotlight they are all under now.
Is it right doing what he did?--for me NO
As a parent would I allow it?---NO
As a coach would I allow it? NO
Where were his coaches during this sudden muscle increase durimg the summer?
By no means do I say it isnt out there-- not by a longshot-- it surely is--- my concern is that players are getting branded for something they say they are not doing-- if a player admits what he is doing then he is to be penalized to the fullest extent.
