Palmguard...

I am a catcher and I wear a regular batting glove under my glove. It's not help the sting, but its more comfortable than hand directly touching the leather. I may get palmguard because the sting is annoying. But Louisville Slugger has one also dedicated solely to reducing the sting. Does anybody know which one is more effective? Also glove insterts: do those go strapped on to your fingers, or u somehow stick it in your glove- sorry I don't have much experience with this stuff.

you stick the glove inserts into the index and middle finger slots of your glove. make sure to clean out the inside some before you do it though. when i put mine in there was dirt on it and it didn't totally stick, then it would fall off in games and practices. i ended up just using gorilla glue to keep it in.

just use a regular,finger guard.Sold at your regular sporting goods store.It straps on your index finger and covers your palm.I use one and it works perfectly(I also catch)

I am using a Palmgard next year. I use one of those inserts last year a I felt like it made it harder to close my catchers mitt. I think the palmgard will be better. I am going to carch some bull pen next week so I will let you guys know what I think about the palmgard.

I use a Palmgard when it's about 40 degrees and lower, other wise I go with nothing. If it's bothering you that bad you might want to purchase a catcher's mitt with thicker leather or get the palmgard finger insert. Because the leather underglove makes my hand sweat and it's harder to frame pitches with the extra layer of leather in my opinion. I hope this will help you. Good Luck.

I just caught some bull pen the other day with a plamgard under glove and it seemed to be pretty nice. The only thing is, is it really is beneficial if you are using a catcher's mitt, if you are using a fielder's glove, it tends to make squeezing harder. Hope this helps.

i too use a palmguard. worth the investment in my opinion. it takes like a day of throwing to get used to it tho. i catch pitchers throwing anywhere from 80-90mphs and it really helps.
