WSJ had a writeup yesterday about the public debut of a kinescope copy of Don Larsen's WS Perfect Game from 1956. While newsreel clips from old games, especially WS games are common, complete games are incredibly rare from even the early 1970s when video tape came into use.
Larsen and Yogi Berra were present for the debut. Neither had ever seen the game on TV before! Tickets cost $300.

WSJ commented how different a 1956 broadcast was. No tiny network logos. No radar reading in the corners. No streaming scores. No instant replays. Fewer commercials (all were for Gillette) and some were delivered by the announcers (Mel Allen and Vin Scully) themselves. Far less jabber from the announcers.
This primitive and very bulky kinescope recording was apparently made for showing at overseas military bases and most of the FIVE reels of film somehow survived.
