PBR Prospect Mentoring Program

Milt - Not familiar with the Prodpect Mentoring Program, but if you are looking for college exposure check out the College Development Camp that Cangelosi Baseball runs in January. Son (2011) attended last year, money well spent.

I would imagine anyone with a checkbook qualifies for an invitation.

It is a new spin on an age old product, a recruiting service. While they are offering eval's and then consulting on fits, there's really nothing they can do that you can't do yourself. If you want to pay someone else to do it, that's a personal decision. Get Junior on a good travel team that gets scouted, get him to a PG showcase and Jupiter, and the recruiters will tell you where Junior fits best. In my mind, that would be money better spent.

Judging from what is included in the package, and having seen some pricing on previous PBR stuff in the past, I would imagine the price tag to be significant.

Thanks CSG - We're making the rounds this fall and winter. USBA a few weeks ago (accuracy of results in question however) followed by PBR this past weekend. Also doing PG National Underclass in Fort Myers in December. Amateur Baseball Report events in Jan and Feb. Should have some type of idea if he is generating some interest after these. We're also talking about the Cangelosi event you mentioned earlier (thanks for that). I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion on the PBR Mentoring Program. Claims that relationships with coaches is beneficial in finding a good fit (baseball and academicall).

Want to again mention the Cangelosi Development Camp. This is ove and above any PBR.

On the reverse side, I have heard good things said about PBR by Big Ten coaches this past year. 2012 did the Fall Ball program, was treated well and had fun.

Straight up...anyone at a recruiting service that claims that their relationships with coaches can help get your son recruited, is full of BS. If I was to choose a recruiting service, it would never be one that made that claim, as their trust would be suspect.

I think a lot of these Winter events are a waste. When I see guys showing up with radar guns in January and then intimidating kids, who generally are not in throwing shape, to light up their guns, it ain't a good thing.

First (and last) experience with PBR event was not a good one. Prospect mentoring? C'mon... Why doesn't someone just come out with a "seperate your parents from their hard-earned money for no good reason" event and just call it what it is?
