OPson called earlier to tell me about this accident. Apparently another DBAT player was driving the car that hit the PantherFamily mobile. From what Matt said, one of the cars was totaled, but you know how 17 yr. olds can exaggerate. I texted PD and he confirmed that JE does have a broken collarbone. It's his left one, not his throwing shoulder, so if there's a positive, maybe that's it. I assume the other DBAT players are fine, the driver pitched in today's game to get the save.

I'm sure PD will give us an update as soon as he's able.

HSBBWeb friends,

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. It has been a trying day, but God won't present us with more than we can handle. We will deal with this challenge and remain thankful. Our friends have already demonstrated tremendous support -- as your baseball families would do. I am going to edit a previous post (slightly) because I want to make sure the other people involved in the accident are not mentioned by name. It was an unfortunate circumstance that could have happened to anyone. PantherSon was the only one to sustain an injury, and although it is painful, he will be fine. It is a tough "break" Wink because this is an important summer season. But, life goes on. Jeff is a resilient kid and will come back stronger. He had an excellent tournament and was looking forward to pitching at East Cobb (he was scheduled to start today).

Again, thank you all for your concerns, your wishes for speedy recovery, and your prayers. Our remaining challenges involve logistics as we have a wrecked car in Georgia and work, home, family, baseball in Texas. Smile Please pray for the other families that were involved in the accident as well. They face the same "opportunities".

Back to normal soon!

-PD

I'm going to close this subject, but I want to publicly thank the families that helped us out during our trying time in Georgia. Naming names will embarass them but we have so many great people on our team. Please continue to pray for the families involved in the accident as there remain a number of logistical challenges. Thank you all too for the prayers and well-wishes. Jeff is still sore, but he will heal and his spirits are good (for a teenager). His goal is to be slingless for his mid-August trip to Mexico --- just after the trip to Farmington. Cool
