If the Sox defense doesn't get any better and the pitchers both starters and bull pen don't start throwing strikes and working a head in counts Peavey won't make a difference.
The walks and defense has been horrible, not only errors but how many time have we watched 2 of the outfielders completely misplay balls. This team with some defense could easily have 10 more wins right now.

Guess they could have used Jake.

Cub fans, much like the rest of the baseball world does not care about the White Sox. We know that you would rather counter our scorn than our indifference, but the bottom line is we dont pay attention to your team.

And we know that this hurts.
RRF8, son if you're young, or sir if you're not, you're wasting your time. With Soxnole it's always about the Cubs, especially when they're struggling. He doesn't comprehend that we really don't care about his team. He tries to make some noise when only one side cares.

I don't give a rat's *** that they're on the hook for $60M for this Rios guy or Jake Peavy's contract. Heck, our DL was already overcrowded.

Good for them. My team has enough big, long contracts to choke a horse. How's that working out?

In Toronto, they're having a parade for the GM just for being able to unload this guy and his contract. But, what is one person's garbage is another man's gold.

Typical Rosy....Rios is ****? As in he can't play defense and hit? Huh?

Toronto couldn't afford him amd keep Halliday. The Sox will not have Contreares and Thome next year so they have salary space.

I think I can look up posts about Reinsdorf being cheap. Now he is taking on too many salaries. Guess what... some people don't like the Sox, Reinsdorf or Williams and will attack them no matter what they do, whether it makes sense or not. If you don't care what the Sox do, as you say, then keep your inconsistent opinions to yourself.
***deleted by me*** Where did I say anything about this guys ability to hit or play defense? What I said in response to RRF8 was that as much as I like Soxnole, it is what it is. We really don't care about your team, as FastballDad and many others have said for years. I don't care if you can afford him or not. I don't care about your payroll. I don't care who gets released or who doesn't.

I have no interest in having any dialogue with you, so I'd appreciate it if you would just let me write my occasional post and leave it at that.

You said one person's garbage is another man's gold when referring to picking up Rios. What does calling him garbage mean? That he is a great player. Calling me names just shows how childish you are. If you make statements, try to have the courage to back them up instead of calling people names Bruce. You wouldn't have the gonads to say that to my face.

rosy,

C'mon, it did appear you were bum rapping Rios imo.

But the notion that cub fans don't care what happens to the Sox is like saying Bill Clinton is a raving homosexual!

I spend many hours a week visiting corporate offices in and around Chicagoland. The unique
aspect of Chicago baseball is all about your favorite teams....the Sox or cubs and whoever the other team is playing!

This may not be you but it is most of us.

I deleted my reference to you being an idiot. My apologies.......Now,

What don't you understand? You interjected yourself in a "post discussion" beween myself and another. this wasn't about you and never will be.

As far as Toronto felt, he was an overpaid (fill in the blank). KW thinks he will be a perfect fit in the outfield for the next several years. That's that.

Soxnole, you've got some crew behind you this year. At least when it was Beenthere and FBD having some fun along with you and I it never got personal. Tell me this guy isn't way over the top. Hey, been to Ann Sather's lately?

Peace bro's!!

and Rios was expendable only because the Jays had to jettison payroll after not unloading Halladay.

The Sox are gonna roll and the flubs are gonna need an infimary addition to the dump that is wrigley.

Funniest part to me is that Lou looks like he's had it. If they fired Hendry and Lou had the GM job, the cubs would be 5 games in front.

The difference between JH and Kenny is that Williams understands chemistry in the club house and JH does not.

I'm back in town and I missed all the fun. Rosy thanks for holding down the fort.

The Cubs stink and it looks like they are going to be in limbo and then rebuilding for a few years.....a tough trick with the baggage they have signed. We'll have to see just what the new owners are going to be like. Will they try to win at all costs? Or at all?

The sox are going to make a run at it, so you sox fans should be able to, for at least this season forget about the Cubs and enjoy your team.

It is very fair commentary to note that the chairman is getting away from his so-far proven theory not to take on so much long-term contrct money. It may land him right where the Cubs are in a year or two. The Jays didn't trade Rios so they could keep Halliday...he will be gone before next season if not this. Rios just makes too much money.

Both Lou and Hendry will be gone after this year, and maybe everyone else. It's time.
