DBAT 16 won their first game as did Panthers XVI -- it will get MUCH tougher. The hotels LOVE this one-game-a-day tournament. There are scounts and coaches galore, which is a good thing. No wet stuff yet -- Georgia has been dry too....unusual to see the Mississippi River so low. <-- so much for my "touch of America" commentary during baseball season. Smile

More soon.

DBAT 16 sit at 2-1 after three days -- lost a one-run game last night and won one today. It seems the young teams are "delegated" to the high school fields -- which is ok, they are all nice venues. We hope they make it out of pool play --- but there's a long way to go. Ethan Cunningham (SLC '08) had a great complete game vicrory this morning against the East Cobb Padres. Panthers XVI are 1-1 entering their third game today.
Dozens of scouts, especially at the EC complex -- mostly Eastern schools -- Big East, ACC, east coast JUCO. At one point, I saw Michigan, Duke, Georgia Tech, St John's, UCONN, Michigan State, Army, Furman, Elon, Coastal Carolina, etc....at the same venue --- impressive gathering. Not too many Southwest coaches. It is a well-run tournament and an excellent gage for our younger players. I think hitting with wood is a little over-rated at this level but it makes it cool for the kids, despite the fact that most will never hit with wood outside of these tournaments.

The weather in Atlanta has been good to us -- overcast today with threats of........well, you know. Is it obvious that we're doing a lot of waiting in the hotel lobby? Smile

PGStaff -- are you in town?

Great to finnally have a good talk with Pdiddy such a great guy.Not going to well for the Panthers 17 but change son is haveing a great tournament. Pdiddy is right scouts everywhere so good exposurer for the kids.

OP I seem to have trouble when i leave Rockwall i have been under Talley`s wing to long so now that he is gone i have to find my way myself.
ML is watching me type this and laughing about me hunting and pecking.
We will miss him
DBAT 16 won today to finish 3-2 in pool play. Early calculations indicated 41st-43rd place -- missing the top 40 by a spot or two. Frown A few consolation games tomorrow, then back to Texas to wrap up the BBI season and get ready for AABC. Four one-run games in 5 days ---- needed to pull the 4-3 Tuesday loss out to make it to the championship bracket. A lot of good teams, separated by a run or two.

It was fun to hang with Changeup for a few minutes. Looks like the Dallas Patriots 17 (also 3-2) might make it into the championship bracket, allowing only 13 runs to DBAT 16's 16 RA. A game of inches! Smile

We will miss you guys and the fun times we had in Rockwall. Things change for a reason. God has a plan. Ya'll take care and we'll see you down the road.........

OP -- while at dinner tonight, we obtained ML's signature on a 2007 contract! Welcome to the family, brother.

PD,

I'm just glad there's someone out there that will take him! He wanted to play all year with you guys, but his plans were thwarted if you know what I mean. Funny how things change over night like they did!

I do appreciate you all keeping an eye on him for us while in Georgia. I have hated not being there, but it just didn't work out!

It's gonna be interesting if DBAT makes it to the MMWS and he has to pitch against you guys. That will be fun! At least I hope so!

See ya'll in a day or two..........
