Could someone with experience with a PG event help me with my question. My son is pitching on Saturday Oct 10th in Ft Myers. This is first PG event. We are a registered subscriber and he has a listing on PG. How does he go about getting his velo measured and or an eval from PG so we can send that link to colleges or just have colleges see his velo etc? Do college coaches "mine" the PG list? Im hoping he makes the all tournament team. Maybe they watch those. Im so excited for him. He sat 85-86 and touched 87 recently at a major d1 college and they are coming to see him pitch in Ft Myers. He's a 2017 LHP. I hope he gets an offer!

He won't get an Eval, unless he goes to a Showcase Event. Since he is pitching, he will probably get a little love in the game write-up. They will post his velo though. I think it usually takes about a week. Good Luck to your son!
What type of guns does PG use? I hope they use a Bushnell +10 mph gun. LOL
Dirk, we use both Stalker guns and TrackMan. If you would, privately, tell me who your son is, I'll make sure our guys pay very close attention to him. Sounds like a good prospect based on the info you have given. Here is hoping he has a good time and does well.
Ok, sure will.
My 2017 catcher will there as well. But he's not a pitcher...
2017 corner IF will "hopefully" be there and at Jupiter. We'll know for sure after his wrist MRI tomorrow. He's dreading the doc visit afterwards.

Awesome. Our coach wanted my son to go to Jupiter too but my work schedule just wont allow both. We will do Jupiter next year. If nothing else, just to see the hundreds of scouts. Exciting times for our sons!

That's what we're both hoping for. Ever since he saw the movie "42" he's had these "episodes" where he thinks that he's Jackie Robinson and slides in head first. He's not.

My son slid head-first ONCE in his whole baseball career. Home. He was 11 and it was a game changing run at an out of state tournament. Funny thing was he had never been taught how to do it and it just sort of happened. Thankful he got it out of his system early.
I have no doubt he's learned his lesson. There's no break, which is good. MRI tomorrow should tell if there's just inflammation in the cartilage or a tear. Obviously the inflammation means a lot less time missed for him.
I always knew he'd never be a burner, though he's been as low as 7.25 in the 60. Which is why I emphasized being able to read pitchers and steal off of them. He studied Pujols and how he does it. Have to admit it has worked for him very well.
I hate seeing kids slide into home plate especially, head first. In Jupiter one year we had a highest level prospect slide head first into a catcher and he ended up with a broken neck. He was paralized for almost a year before starting to recover. That was a real scary moment. I know we even see it in the Big leagues at times, but they are usually avoiding a tag when doing it. It's dangerous, coaches and parents should insist they go feet first, at least at home plate.
And on another note. I am reminded of all the times that my mother told me that I'd be blessed with a son who was as hard-headed as I was.

PG Staff, I sent you a dialogue as well, hope that is OK.

I think the only headfirst slides I have seen my son slide are into second base if he senses it will be a close play (more of these as he got older used to be nonexistent). If I can recall, his straight steal of home was feet first as well. Scoring on a hit, if the ball may beat you, you have more of a chance jarring ball out of mitt, feet first than headfirst with a hand.
Couldn't agree more. Not to mention the ability to pop up and take another base on balls that skip away. Doesn't happen much, but it does still happen.
