Is there an advantage to attending the PG event in your area as opposed to attending an event out of state? In other words, do local colleges scout at PG events.

I think PG could better answer your question.
From our experience: son wanted to see what else was out there, besides Big 12 (we are in Texas). He went to one @ Baylor, then opted to go to Fla. He was also on a team that participated in WWBA 17U & 18U, in Fla. That opened up PG Nationals & tournys in Marietta the following summer.
Depends on what schools, what part of the country, etc., your son is interested in.
