I know nobody on this board gives a rip Wink, but the Mustangs-Sharp (16U) are playing in the Perfect Game Super 7 (actually 9 teams) in Marietta, GA.

Currently, the 'Stangs are 5-1. They went 3-1 in pool play beating the:

KC Sluggers 17-1
Bayside Yankees 11-4
East Cobb Panthers 6-2

and losing to the:

East Cobb Astros 6-3

They won in bracket (double elimination) play today over the KC Sluggers (8-2) and the East Cobb Titans (6-1).

Tomorrow will re-match the Mustangs against the EC Astros if they win the morning. The winner of that game would be in the championship game and need to be beaten twice.

Sorry to have taken up board space on Mustang news. Big Grin

Go 'Stangs!

We miss young Mr. Jones and our pitching staff is getting a little thin at this point of the tournament...but we'll see if we can patchwork this thing together. Currently playing the EC Astros again for the right to go into the championship game(s) tomorrow undefeated and have to lose twice.

Mustangs play well in GA.

Thanks, Uncle E, but TC sees lots of fast balls with Ryan Ford (Plano West) hitting behind him. Ford has 3 HR's in this tourney including a tape measure shot over the CF scoreboard today...excited Mustang parents said 430', but they might exaggerate?? Wink

Tycho,
Got the scoop from Twitch today - sounds like the team is playing very well, and young TC is having a great tournament. I know you miss Jonesy because he can throw, like, 125 pitches on back-to-back days. . .and most are strikes.
Good luck tomorrow.
See, there were about four or five people who gave a rip.

Jonesy ain't even warmed up after 125 pitches... Big Grin Thanks for the good thoughts. The boys have played well against some very good teams...maybe they can bring it home from here.

430 might be holding back....

Great pitching by Gilbreath, White, Hamblin, and Slusher thus far!

Hawkman,
We could definitely use Jonesy's arm. The other teams would be so flabbergasted by his nastiness. Big Grin

Sorry, I ain't there because you made me work...some of my game reports are spotty... Razz
Final from Marietta:

Mustangs (Sharp) - 11
Team Florida - 2
5 innings

Team Florida was getting thin on pitching and the 'Stangs really hit well...won the tournament going 7-1.

Tournament MVP - Ryan Ford
All Tournament - Matt Shortall, Aaron Gilbreath and Tyler Collins

Good job Mustangs, way to finish the summer!
