You should be proud...not sorry. I know there's a contingent out there that makes you not want to say anything about your own kid but this is a nice accomplishment that I am sure he worked hard to achieve. Folks who get it can be genuinely happy for the success of others, not just their own.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Hshuler .

To receive the Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-American or All-Region Award is a tremendous achievement for these high school student-athletes,” said Jerry Ford, president of Cedar Rapids, IA-based Perfect Game. “We are proud to recognize their talent as they prepare for their careers playing collegiate or professional Baseball.

I think that is a super-cool acheivement. I was so happy when my son made that list last year. Then this week, we found out he made the 2016 All-American High Honorable Mention team and West Region 2d Team! Very gratifying especially as the local media totally omitted him from their Preseason All-Area Team despite being de facto league MVP last spring, leading his team to a District Final, and signing with a Pac12 school.

To me these lists (Rawlings/Perfect Game) are validating for the hardest working kids who are willing to put their game up against the best kids from other parts of the country versus those that have somehow managed to become big fish in a tiny-ish pond without ever travelling for a national level event or showcase.

Congratulations to you and your son, and to the other studs on the Rawlings/Perfect Game List.

3- trees ! Thanks for the kind words , yes I'm very proud of my son who works really hard ..pretty cool since he's a 2019 who is the starting varsity  catcher on his HS team .. He has always been  the underdog ... Even this past winter in a Miami Showcase when he walked away with the MVP .. Not the biggest kid but  but definitely has the right mindset .

Same situation for my son. Just received this same email from perfect game   Son    Has received   No local area accolades. Honestly we kind of laughed about it when our local press came out with pre season lists of players to watch a couple of weeks ago- but I could tell it ticked him off a little.    Which I was happy to see.     We opened our schedule this week and he went off.  4-6 with 4 homers in a doubleheader at Ripken in myrtle beach yesterday.     I think word will get back to Pittsburgh !

I take exception to your reply.  There is nothing wrong with anyone being proud and posting when their player is mentioned in a publication of his accomplishments.  I even post things about others sons here that I think should be recogniced or we congratulation when we feel it's appropriate or post how sorry we are when a player gets hurt.

I truly get it why so many kids knowledgeable don't post anymore.

C2019, Nice stuff.

I am not sure why you would take exception to my reply when we seem to be in agreement that it's a nice accomplishment and that C2019 should be openly proud.

If you thought that I was somehow including you in my 'contingent out there' phrase, I am really not sure how you came to that conclusion. I am fairly new to this forum and don't know you/your username but based on your reply, I would definitely include you in my 'folks who get it' category.

Guilty conscience?

My 2018 made the AA Underclass team also. His entire family got word and sent him congrats. He has 3 other siblings who were scholarship college athletes and their excitement for him kept him smiling all week. This only helps him continue to work his butt off. A few other kids that he knows made the list and they are already committed 2018 Super Players. Seeing his name there shows him that his hard work is paying off and encourages him to keep working harder.

On the way home from DH today.Told 2016 about him making the lists again.Just before he takes another bite out of his sandwich he says  "oh really I hadn't heard" Not another word was said about subject. You gotta love it.I still am scratching my head on this.I am all but sure we didn't play in any PG tourneys last year. The team did go to florida and the fall stuff.2016 was playing FB in the fall and we couldn't swing the florida trip.Don't get me wrong as a parent If anyone is bragging up my kid I'll take it just don't get it.

We are in same boat.   Son has never been to a pg tournament  or showcase.   I think they either hear about them or see them at other games

That's a tremendous achievement, BDS. Just outstanding. And Lefty 2nd Team is likewise amazing. Those 1st and 2nd teams have most of the best players in the country on them.

My son was HHM underclass, which he was pretty surprised about, given his lack of PG events. I suppose PG must have folks in various parts of the country or it picks up intel from trusted sources, both for these lists and for its rankings.
