Son 2018 got invited to the PG National 6/16 in Ft. Myers, Florida. I heard PG would pick the best players from this event and invite them to the PG All-American on August in San Diego? Want to know how significant the PG National is.

Maybe these two links will help Note the round they were drafted in.

It is a tremendous opportunity. How many players in total get invited to the PG National each year?
Yeah...tremendously significant.
Just as an example for pitchers. Throwing 90 at this event only put you in the 46th percentile.
Workout results from last yar's event https://www.perfectgame.org/ev...ults.aspx?event=3645
From a recruiting standpoint , that is a MUST DO event. One of only a small handful of events that i consider top priority
One thing I thought the more veteran members of the site could help me with. While I know that the pro scouts are out in force for this, how is the college recruiting scene? I'm sure, due to the fact that these are 2018's it's nothing like WWBA for colleges, but just wondered.

Much smaller college crowd for the National than the Jr. National. Most of the 2018 class at the National are already commits somewhere. If there are a couple of uncommitted studs in the first group of the National, then some college guys may stick around, but most have scrambled out the last day of the Jr. National.
Roothog,
You are going to see for yourself. I think you will be surprised.
Actually there are more DI college recruiters at the National than Junior National. Pretty much every top DI is there other than those still in the College World Series and most of them also send someone to cover it. Typical year will have every ACC, SEC, Big 12, Most of the Big 10, and top West Coast Colleges. Also many of the very best Jucos are there to see what might become available. And of course every MLB club. In fact, all the suites at Jet Blue have been rented out for quite sometime. True that many are already committed, but some of the best are still undecided. For sure the coaches that have players committed are there watching to see how their player performs against the top competition. And nobody wants to take a chance on losing their top recruit. The same coaches will be at East Coast Pro, Tournament of Stars, and the Area Codes later in the year watching many of the same players again. The top schools are always done recruiting... UNTIL they see someone that can really help their program.
The Junior National gets pretty much all the top schools, but not so many of the others. It's the top programs that are most interested in the younger kids. And that is where most of these kids will end up.

It's an honor for the HS player that he will always remember.
My 2019 received an invite for the Junior national Trying to decide if its worth going. What are your thoughts? Does everyone get an invite?

From what I hear its invitation only and I was told that it's a must attend event.
Our son attended both events. I would strongly urge anyone invited to attend as it is a special experience. Lots of college scouts at Jr National and lots of pro scouts at National (in addition to college coaches who seem mostly there to watch their own commits). Some real stand out players attend and it is fun to watch as a parent. As a player I'm pretty sure our son puts this up with Jupiter as one of the highlights of his playing career so far.

This is an exclusive event, heavily (heavily!) attended by colleges, pros, agents. Multiple offers came from this event alone.
