Do college coaches attend PG showcases as they do the tournaments? Son is interested in several western schools and I was thinking that doing this showcase in Arizona might be a good way for coaches to get a look at him, but we've only done the WWBA tourneys, not the showcases, and don't know what to expect. Thanks!

LHPMom2,

You should not only email the coaches that you will be there, but send them your detailed game schedule including your pitching rotation(s). Most teams will give this to you in advance and it really helps coaches in setting up their schedules. Many teams will also send out pitching rotations to the programs that follow their teams regularly.

Be aware that there are lots of very talented players in the West and there are fewer slots in western programs than players, which is why you see many West Coast kids play outside of the West. Not to discourage you at all just for you to be aware and you will have to be extra diligent coming from the East.
Griff,

Yes RR23JR did it last year as sophomore. There were College scouts as well as Area Scouts there last year. PG scouts/coaches are also very knowledgeable and have their own networks as well.
Since we were not sure when we will be able to do it again RR23JR did OF/INF/RHP during those 2 days. PG coach was pretty good in getting him in in all 3 positions. It was all worth the effort.

Good Luck at Junior Classic. Still a good amount of scouts today at the games ( Amount is less probably due to ongoing WWBA World Championship in Jupiter).
RR23JR had a good showing today in front of schools he is interested in and vice versa. Just tell Griff Jr to just relax and whip it!
