Long time reader.....short time poster. I have scoured the forums as well as the Perfect Game website. Could someone please give us a brief synopsis of what occurs at a PG showcase? Is it simply swings, ground balls, 60's and bullpens? Or is there game action as well?......looking at Ohio Valley event in August.....debating whether to do it or wait till completion of sophomore year.....leaning towards the latter at this point.
Thanks for any insight.

Typical schedule… PG Showcase based on 8 teams 120 players.

Players are placed on rosters identified by Jersey color and number. Event program and scout info is available.

Game 1 (Games are usually 10 innings)
Red vs Black
Game 2
Royal Blue vs White
Game 3
Gray vs Green
Game 4
Purple vs Navy Blue

2nd day (Games are 10 innings)

White vs Black
Green vs Red
Navy Blue vs Gray
Purple vs Royal Blue
Pitchers throw in bullpen and 2-3 innings in the games.
2nd chance 60

Above is a description of a two day event. 3 day events are different and each event could differ slightly. All events have at least 20 innings of games for each team. Hitting order includes all players on roster and order continues where it left off at the end of first game. There are no walks, once a pitcher throws 4 balls or hits the batter, he must throw all fastballs.

Later
A scouting report and grade is entered on the player profile page of each player. All scouting notes and information is entered into the database for future purposes. The goal is to create a baseball history of each player. This becomes very valuable when it comes to projection. When a player is seen once you only know where he is at that point. Knowing if he has improved or stayed the same over a period of time can be very important.

Warning: At most of these events if a player lacks talent he will really standout, because the average player that attends ranges from pretty darn good to one of the best in the country.
I’m probably forgetting something, but this is fairly close for a two day event.
Ok so here is another question concerning the PG showcase. 2013 son just got an invite for a Top Prospect NorthEast showcase....is it worth the hefty price??? That is a lot of money I don't have. He attended an Area Code Tryout, he is playing at the 16u WWBA in East Cobb, he is doing a lot of traveling this summer with his team and being seen a great deal. Is this worth it???
Or can someone with lots of money just help us out! ha ha ha
