My son (a 2017) received an invite/application for the Perfect Game Northeast Underclass Showcase in late August. Does PG send these invites to most everyone in their database or are the invitees specifically picked based upon recommendation or observation? My son's team played at the 13U BCS Tournament in Fort Myers this past summer - so I am wondering if pretty much all participants in the tournament receive this invite.

I do not know for sure but would think(and from our sons' past experience) players in the data base which provided their contact info (email home address) are invited to the regional showcase events. The National showcase is definitely invitation only.
My son is a 2015 and for quite a while been receiving invitations to different showcases and the PG showcases. I do think like BBoy400 said, if you are in a database they send the info out. We get so many that my wife and I do not know which could be a actual interest in our son or just a mass mail out. My addition (question) would be how people feel about the Perfect Game showcase and if it would be better to go to than one of the "prospect camps" at one college?
The camp I am asking about is the one D1 colleges offer like Texas A&M that is a three day camp for high school and Juco players.
I am a proponent of casting a wider net initially. See how he stacks up against 2014 and 2015 competition. So, I would suggest a showcase like perfectgame that would provide exposure to multiple colleges as well as a rating from an independent source as to how talented your son may be(and project to be) from a professionals viewpoint. If TX AM is his #1 choice and you think he is a legit A& M caliber player than it would not hurt(other than your checkbook) to attend their camp. I always felt the odds were in the schools favor when you attend their camp(200 campers one school) vs a PG type event which has multiple schools checking out your player and others.
