We just returned, and must say we were very disapointed in the event. My son was discouraged from throwning from the outfield, because he is a pitcher. So we showed up at 9, just to be told to be back at 530. Sunday he was scheduled to pitch his 3 innings and did a great job, but the radar gun was being shared between our field and another so he was only clocked on a few pitches. The day before the gun was on the pitchers the entire game. Our coach seemed pre-occupied with the East cobb tourny that was going on at the complex, he coaches one of the teams. I am also curious to how they rate the players, the men behind the backstop did not seem to be "evaluating" any of the pitchers. On one field Sunday there was only one Perfect Game person . We traveled 6 hours each way for 3 at bats Saturday and 3 inning pitched Sun. for $495 i quess we were expecting more. There were only a few scouts present and I know it is not suppose to matter with PG because they report to many more. But they camped out most of the time on one particular field and we were told later it was because the players on that field were div. 1 prospects. I was just wondering how that was determined. But, at least my son performed well. I do wish they could have captured more of his pitches on the radar gun. My son attended the Blue-Grey Classic this summer and he has been contacted by several Div.1 schools that saw him there. We thought the PG event would be even better exposure for him. We over heard at least a dozen parents and players complain about the lack of evaluation for the money. One kid flew in from Honduras to pitch 3 innings, he doesn't hit or play another position.
