I apologize if this has been answered before, but I did a search and couldn't find a definitive answer. My son attended the PG NE Sunshine Showcase, a fantastic experience by the way, and yesterday received an invitation to the PG NE Top Prospect. Are these invitations sent out to all attendees of prior PG events? Since the evaluations for the Sunshine haven't been completed I haven't been able to figure out if this invite means he did well there or not. We'll probably attend Top Prospect because it will give him exposure to some New England schools that wouldn't see him otherwise.
Thanks

We might need PG Staff to answer this. First of all, Conratulations! It is directly related to how your son graded out and probably his year of graduation too. I know from my son's experience with the National Underclass, he graded out an "8" and made the "top prospect team". However, he has only got invitations for the regulat underclass and sunshine events, not the top prospects showcases. He's a 2013 so that may play into it too??? Maybe PG Staff can add his comments.
Well my son is a 2013, and this invite just appeared, he has never attended a PG Showcase before......so I am clueless as to how he got it. That is what I was wondering if it is a mass mailing, since it does cost close to $600 to attend. I wonder if it's just a money maker, but I do have respect for Perfect Game and their events usually are legit. Not sure what to do......
Thanks to all for the advice. I really don't think he is ready for a PG showcase. His pitching is coming along very nicely for a 14YO, but he has a lot of work to do in other areas. I wrote a little note and sent a 'not attending' back to Perfect Game. Hopefully, he will get invited to a PG showcase next summer and we can accept the invitation in 2012.
