Rollerman,
I didn't see your post until now, as we just returned home. I wish I'd known sooner that you were with Norcal white. I'm with the EDH Vipers that you played on Saturday.

If only that line drive with the bases loaded in the 7th inning had been a few feet one way or the other...Oh well, it was a good game. We enjoyed playing you guys!

Which player is your son? What number?

06CatchersDAd,
Yea, my son was the that gave you guys the opportunity in that last inning. Poor kid, 1st time pitching for NorCal and he's trying to impress. Lit up the guns but couldn't buy a strike.
Came back on Monday, threw two innings, 4 K's 1 hit and no runs. Couldn't buy that confidence builder with Bill Gates checkbook!!

Roller,

Your son did fine. I think everyone needs to remember that it is JANUARY, and other than southern CA teams, its kinda cold and wet to practice(but - those so cal guys found out about wet, didnt' they?!). Our team hadn't played a game together since Labor Day, and we hadn't practiced together since then, either. Most of the kids had been working out on their own a bit, but nothing organized. My idea was to take them down and get some reps in before HS workouts start on Feb 1. I imagine it was much the same for your team, not a lot of organized practice before going to Brea. Under those circumstances, I thought there was a lot of quality baseball played. The biggest thing we lacked was from the mental side, ala the last play of our game (one of our runners got doubled off first to end the game, with the tying run on third and winning run on second) Our players weren't as sharp mentally, as they are normally.

We had a great time, played some good baseball and now our players are looking forward to their High School seasons. We were glad to get to play quality teams such as Norcal and ABD Bulldogs. By the way, does anyone know what ABD stands for?
