This would be a cool thing seeing a local kid get a chance to play for his hometown team.....would like to see this happen just for that reason alone

Baseball's best teams lose about sixty-five times a season. It is not a game you can play with your teeth clenched.

Sean had a great year in AA. He played in the Futures Game. Unfortunately there's currently no room for him on the Sox moving up to MLB any time soon. The Sox had to place him on the 40 man roster or they would have lost him as a Rule 5. Since September the word has been he would probably be traded for a current need. It probably doesn't hurt there's a connection between the Amaros and the Coyles. Amaro knows Sean is a good kid on top of being a good prospect.

Amaro doesn't hold the hammer anymore for the Phillies...at least according to local reports. Gillick is rumored to have the final say. The Phils under major transition both on the field and in the ownership group...would be happy so see the Coyle come back home with at least one or two other top notch kids!!

it is gonna be a few tough years for the Phillies.

My son played one summer season with Sean with the Bandits, I had the opportunity to watch Sean play. RJM is right he is quality person that really will not need anyone to speak to his character....all you have to do is watch him play and spend some time with him.

Would love to see him on the Phillies.

It won't be for Bastardo. He was traded to the Pirates. I'm willing to bet Coyle is included in whatever deal for Hamels or a Reds pitcher. So there's still a chance he gets to the Phillies. My concern about Hamels is his career record against AL teams.is poor. It may be his concern given he has to approve the trade due to his no trade clause.
