"FYI, if I simply wanted to let you all know that "he was there" I would have been sure to add the other upcoming events that he has been invited to."

It appears that you already have..

"My son was invited to the Stevenson showcase and he didn't go. He was invited to the Kaiser game and he didn't go. He was on the first list that was invited to play on Team Illinois and he didn't go. He wsa invited to tryout for the Area Code games and he didn't go."

"My son was invited but didn't go to the Stevenson Showcase because he was at the National Showcase in Cincinnati.
He was also invited to play on Team Illinois."

"My son is listed on the Prep Baseball Report."

"Anybody going to that? My son got a call this afternoon from one of the Midland teams asking him to play there with them. They are driving up to pick him up tomorrow."
Ball and My3, does this mean I'm finally on the payroll? BTW, for those interested.. That was an invite only prospect camp put on by the Philadephia Phillies in three locations, Elgin, Chicago and somewhere in Indiana. Area Scout Bob Sczymkowski (sp?) and another gentleman from the Phillies ran the camp. Lots of talent there, including Kyle Stroup (Baseballmom08's son).
Well I feel that letting those know how your son or other players are doing is what a positive mentor does. Now whether you dislike a parent should not have a bearing on whether that parent chooses to promote their own. If one doesn't agree or care for another should be kept out of the discussion. This is a positive and informative site which I look forward to visiting and learning from daily. Lets keep it that way.

Hang around bbm08...keep the posts where they are...there is no need to delete them.

Those members who do not like your input can skip over it...Lord knows most probably pull back the stick, bury the throttle, and ignite the JATO units when they see my avatar, a majestic Douglas-fir, a beacon of madness, in the left margin. That's fine.

It sounds as though your son has a very promising future in baseball and his story is welcome here. Not all will be interested, but many will.
mom--

You can post whatever you want obviously, but when you do, others have the right to respond as they wish.

I would keep the posts coming, but try to tailor them a bit so as not to appear to shamelessly promote your son. Quite frankly, most couldn't give a hill of beans about your son or any son but their own, but everyone here is interested in the process and general info.
ballyall got it exactly right... telling us "my son got invited here, there, and every where and has been offered umpteen dollars by multiple schools" really doesn't help any one understand the process behind showcasing and college recruiting. tell us how he got invited, where he played, was it worth the time and money invested, etc. we all learn from that experience.

you're proud of your son, and you have every right to be... however, he has a long road ahead of him - lots of kids (my own included) got all kinds of phone calls, letters and offers which don't amount to anything in the long run. I'm not saying that will be the case for your son - and I hope he achieves everything he's dreaming of and much more - but we've all seen it, read about it and know it happens. hence the skepticism.

there are "bragging threads" on this site where parents share accomplishments and achievements and that's great. we're all proud of our kids and love to read about other kids when the all the hours of hard work begin to pay off.
All this talk of Dolphins.. Brings me back to my childhood.........To a show I used to watch..... I am feeling very sleeeepy nowwwwww. (Snore) (Snore)

(Music starts)
They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
(Dolphins Jumping in and out of the water)
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!
(******* dolphin splashes water on me, and..)

Aggghhhh! Puey! It was all a bad dream!!!! Think I'll go make a tuna sandwich...
