With the runner going, can the pitcher do a spaghetti move to 2nd to make a play on the runner attempting to steal? If I'm correct, I know it's a pick to an unoccupied base but there is a play being made on an advancing runner. And if I'm right, how many umpires would know not to call a balk in this situation? And similarly, a 1st and 3rd defense could be to do a spaghetti move to 2nd if that runner takes off on 1st move. Further, couldn't a lefty do a spaghetti to 2nd on a runner attempting to steal if he goes on first movement?

Yes to the "inside move" to second on a runner stealing from first. Most, if not all, Umps HS and up are pretty familiar with this. I am sure some of the local Umps could verify.
Yeah. I've done it a lot. Coaches go crazy, but the umps understand the rule. the rules also allow for a lefty to come around and continue, WITHOUT A PAUSE, to second base on a stealing runner.

I don't know why this isn't done-- especially in HS where the rules make this move less likely to be a balk (in the event that R1 stops)
Scenario: The opponent's leadoff batter gets on, he's a 6.8 burner, and my pitcher is 1.5 and my catcher is 2.3.....he's 100% going to attempt to steal, and will probably make it unless he stumbles. There's no downside to try to guess which pitch he's going and do an inside move.
But it's too un-traditional for me to do it.
