Picking A Good Bat

Before this upcoming high school season begins I was thinking about buying a new bat. Any suggestions?

I was leaning towards the Omaha XS but might also consider the Gen1X Deuce or the Connexion. I currently have the 2002 Omaha XS and have been pleased with it, but I was wondering if a change could benefit me.

I've also heard about the Gen1X duds and Responses breaking. Is this true?

What should I pick????

This is true i have seen twice a GenX and a Response shatter like a wood. I do like the Connextion because of the blast cap. That's my take on it..

I have the new connextion and like it a lot, but it needs some strength to swing seeing that it is a little end-heavy.

sportsarelife,

how is the "pop" of the connexion? I've heard mixed opinions. Some say that because of the sting-stop, the bat has less "pop" to it. Is that true or just another rumor?

(heard anything about the release date of next years models????)

My boy's team have broken a GenX and Response this past fall, and they are only 9 years old. One of them had been used most of the summer, the other was only about a month old and just pretty much shattered. They were big barrels though, that may make a difference, but I wouldn't expect them to break like that.

keep in mind that each metal bat should be weighed prior to using. they are almost always 1 or 2 oz heavy.
