Watching the Cards-Pirates, thinking how cool it is the Pirates are back. Takes me back to late 60s, transistor radio to the ear, listening to the Redbirds battle the likes of Alou, Stargell, Clemente and the rest.

St Louis sportswriter says it well: The revival of baseball in Pittsburgh is one of the best stories, and developments, in major league baseball over the last decade.

As a steadfast and hardcore Bucco fan, I totally agree.  I still remember not being able to sleep after their last playoff loss against the Braves (when Barry couldn't make the play and Breem slid home "safe").  It has been a long time for us Pirates fans, so last year was a blast.  This year has been a good start at 4-2, so hoping for more fun if 2014.  Go Bucs!

Let’s go Bucs!

Attending a playoff game last year was almost worth the 20 year wait.  Hearing my wife yelling at the TV up stairs, ( there is a delay on the HD in the basement) is fun, she got Bucco fever real bad last year.

We went to the 2nd Pirates game this year, tied after 10 innings, I have an hour drive home and early morning. I almost had to carry her out of the stadium. I told her there’s 160 games left, we were leaving.  That was a day after we sat through the son’s double header weekday game.  Who would have known that after a first date at a Pirate game in 3 rivers stadium that I now have a full-fledged die hard baseball fan as a wife.

11 ball games in the last week and can’t wait for the next ones. ( boy am I glad my son didn’t stick with s#cc#r)
