Sure, the football guys couldn't be there

Im not trying to bash any football players for not attending. But I just wanted to say that not all the football guys didnt attend. I played a football game on Friday night and was there Saturday morning.

What happened to the love and respect for the good old fashioned multi-sport athlete???
ltb, yes I was questioning the release, go back and read my original post. As far as the person that questioned the love of the game even while playing football it is just my opinion but some people will tell you that you can hurt yourself at a showcase if you are not in baseball shape. It is hard to be ready for a baseball showcase if you are playing football all fall.
I think we all need to realize that NO showcase will ever have ALL the top kids. Perfect Game included. Kids slip thru the cracks all the time, people cannot attend do to other sports, and a million other reasons. A scout can tell a lot about a kid even when he is not in "peak" baseball shape like "How does the kid handle himself on the mound/at bat when he does not have his best stuff." According to the talk before the Showcase, at least one kid hurt his chances when he was in the parking lot and was behaving less than acceptable. We all tend to get pumped up when this kid hits 94, or when some kid sends one over the wall. That's great! Some parents won't let their kids go to Winter Showcases and they could care less how the people running it, advertise it. I think they call it marketing!! If you're good, they will find you even if it is later versus sooner.
The kid that really impressed me at the showcase was Nick (I think that's his first name) Martini. I was in the dugout and witnessed how all the kids handled themselves and he stood out as one of the few who really "got it".

I'm pretty sure, not positive, that he is only a junior right now and will still have time to develop and fill out. I would watch for him in the next couple years.
