Just be careful of shoulder injuries from the tackles ---nothing like a shoulder separation to derail a pitching prospect

Let me offer this---they wanted my son as a wide out/kick returner every year in HS and he came home with the papers for me to sign--he was 5-9/150 at best and I never allowed it ---he went on to be a full 4 year starter at a major D-I baseball program---and he was always injury free

Trust me he wanted to play as they were a perennial state champ contender and many of his buddies played but I felt I did the right thing ---my oldest boy was also a baseball/football nut who had a broken rib/punctured lung as a soph on the football field---he never saw a football field again except from the stands and he played 4 years of college baseball

Mike Stutes, Friday starter at OSU this year, was the three year QB on his HS football team. He was drafted this year in the ninth round.

Dennis Dixon, the starting QB at Univ. of Oregon, was drafted this year in the fifth round even though he has not played baseball for more than two years. He was drafted in the 20th round out of high school.

Obviously it can be done.
