Wow great question:

My list includes:

1. Dr John Bagonzi (NH)
2. Ron Wolforth (Tx)
3. Tom House (Ca)
4. Paul ***** (?)
5. Jerry Weinstein (Ca)
6. Alan Jaeger (Ca) Not necessarily mechanics guy but long toss, arm development and care as well as mental aspects.
7. MVP Baseball: Jeff Holly

Ron has week-end and week long sessions in Texas. Alan has winter and summer camps. Since Tom is at USC now I don't know if he is still giving lessons. Jerry is no longer at Cal Poly and I am not sure if he gives lessons. MVP has a training facility in Ca.

I am sure there are excellent instructors in your area and you should get some input from this site on. My son has taken lessons from several local guys and has picked up different things from each of them. He really "clicked" with one guy and we are sticking with him for now.

Any one of the above camps together with a good local guy and your son should be in good shape.

Good Luck!
D1 coaches are not allowed to give private instruction to anyone 9th grade and older I believe. N-y-m-a-n & Jaeger I would classify as more throwing, and conditioning than actual pitching instructors. If you are in the western part of NC, you may want to try the pitching coach at Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory. He's getting ready to have a clinic near Winston-salem. I plan on attending. Here's a link:

The most important thing to do is practice yourself after the instruction. I can show the kids what a perfect pitching form looks like, I give them every detail of how to get there, but no matter how hard I teach, they just can't do it like me. I am not saying they should throw as fast as me or locate the ball as acurate as me, I only ask them to throw like me and follow my detailed explainations. But very few did it. Good pitchers still pitch like they never heard me before. And they are still good. Bad pitchers showing some improvement but still far away from my expectation. I can't understand it and feel shamed to count the money which their parents handed to me. This is the odd situation.
