My son has a choice of turf shoes or molded cleats for throwing off a dirt mound on a turf field. Does anyone have a feel for which would grip the dirt better? The molded cleats are bigger with more spacing in between than the nubs (?) on turf shoes, so I am thinking the molded cleats may be better, but don't really know. In older posts, some catchers were saying that the molded cleats were less comfortable than the turf shoes because of the pressure they put on the sole of the foot, but for pitchers it may be a different issue.

I probably should have put this in the pitching forum, but I have to find some shoes on short notice (tomorrow) so thought this might get more views here. Thanks for any help.

Actually (at least from my standpoint) the moldeds weren't bad, but the metals were. The turf shoes are much more comfortable than any cleats.

Your best bet is molded out of those two choices.
