HitNrun2,

I really don't think that there is anyone to contact about this event, except maybe Harvey himself. He runs this event along with the Stevenson Showcase which is this weekend. Harvey leaves all the choices of the teams (by conference) up to the conference coaches. They vote on players that the coaches in that conference have nominated to be in the event. Those choices and the teams have been set for some time now. Harvery Foster does not have anything to do with choosing players, and he says he likes it that way.

FYI, I just came home from Stevenson and once again the event is just top drawer. 8 conferences and scouts and recruiters galore. there were coaches from East coast universities and others, not exclusively Midwest. Plenty of the local MLB scouts and just a great event for these boys. To be continued tomorrow.
Rosy...I agree with your summary of the Stevenson Showcase...outstanding event (I was working at the showcase). Kids working very hard and having the chance to impress a lot of scouts...pro, DI, DII, DIII and NAIA (a little something for everyone). The draw of coaches gets broader every year. To all those who were lucky enough to attend, congratulations (it's a great opportunity). For those who did not attend, there are still plenty of ways to get noticed.
Boris,

Were you cooking those great brats and cheeseburgers? The Stevenson venue is just terrific as a host site for this event. There are a lot of players, coaches, scouts but there is plenty of room for everyone. Also, 2 great fields just make things perfect. Now, if my son can get a couple of knocks tomorrow........

Thanks for the hospitality.
Actually, I was chasing foul balls. But the burgers were quite excellent. If anyone wants to watch some really good baseball at a nice venue (and the price is right...free admission), I recommend that they go to Lincolnshire tomorrow. And thank you for the complements. I know Bob Mackey, Stevenson's head baseball coach, Jack Knight, head of the Patriot Boosters, and all the parents work real hard to make this a great event for both the players and the fans.
