Plano West Field

The field holds water well -- and there will probably be a crew ready with shop vacs. But I hope weather isn't a factor in the weekend series.

Today's game cancelled, tomorrows game at 2:00 in Georgetown....then what?

This update just posted on the Plano West baseball website....

The Georgetown game will be played at Georgetown High School at 2:00PM as originally scheduled. The team will return Plano after the game.

Plano West and Georgetown are tenatively scheduled to play two games at Plano West on Saturday, times to be determined.

$3000 in chartered buses went down the drain tonight.

Redhead -- if it takes $3000 in transportation for a team from Georgetown, THOSE MUST BE SOME BUSES! Sorry the people of DFW couldn't influence the weather last night.

No - we took an extra bus for parents and some high school kids. After driving to College Station for three consecutive days last week we thought we would let someone else do the driving. We had a lovely field trip to a rest stop outside Waxahachie. The team made it all the way to Plano - when we got the official word of the rainout, we turned the bus around and headed south. Our graduation may get rained out tonight, but as long as we can get the game in, I can deal with that!

I know your guys are anxious to play as are the Wolves. No one wants it to come down to a one-game series....but it's hard to arrange a venue that will be dry. As always, game 1 is the key --- advantage to Georgetown on the home field. But it looks like Saturday is back here where West is tough to beat.

It sounds like a very exciting game 1. GT scores 2 in the bottom of the 6th. Game ended with bases loaded in the 7th -- deep flyout to left. Back to Dallas for games 2 & 3 tomorrow.

is it mandatory that this round be completed this weekend or can they play on Monday or Tuesday

It is my understanding that they could play on Monday.

By the UIL manual. You can only finish a series on Monday or Tuesday if you have played 2 games and get a waiver from the UIL. If one game has been played and you dont complete game 2 Saturday then the winner of game 1 advances.

Good information OneEagle. Obviously the best chance up here is on one of the fields with turf -- Jesuit, Boyd, etc. I believe West has Boyd reserved. Does anyone know if the HP outfield is done?
