The rankings look a little suspect....

Coppell, TX (#32) barely edges out Alvin, TX (#34)

Where and who is Alvin???

(okay, it is the home of Nolan Ryan ... population 21,000)

Alvin is the highest ranked 5A school in Texas that I have never heard of.

I was just wondering why you never see Rowlett in any polls. With a 27-0-2 record you would think they would get a lil respect.

Where is the link to the yahoo story with Drew's picture on it? I can't seem to find it anywhere... Thanks for your help guys!

go to www.yahoo.com and click on the "sports" tab...the headline is "Top 50 high school teams" and there is a picture of the Plano West pitcher.


Look quickly because they change those headlines often!

Baseball America has always been the benchmark in National Rankings at the High School level and still are as far as I'm concerned. They have now gone pay-per-view on their hs polls so I cant post it but they do their homework.

I am glad Drew has had such a great season but I still wonder what Lamar would have looked like with him as our #1 starter. I would think we could have at least competed with Martin for #1 in our district. We still had a good season finishing a close 3rd behind Arlington. But with Drew 20+ wins would have been in reach.

Rowlett, Arlington Martin, and SA Reagan fans might like this top 50 list a little better.

No way Martin should be ranked higher than St. Ignatius HS out of Cleveland Ohio.

I believe Coppell was ranked #1 in the nation back in 2000. I think they were even on the cover of some national magazine. Thats the year when Jason Stokes hit 25 HR's.
I think they were 33-2. But some little team from Mesquite sent them home.
And before you ask what is your point?

Believe it or not, Reagan is on the Rivals "fab 50" list (link posted toward top of thread), but it was inadvertently omitted from the list.
