Plano West 19
Plano East 11

PW: Kiser - 5-5, three 2B, 3B
Ford - 2 HR, single
Coats - HR

PE: Reneau - HR
Wylie, Emens, D Bell, Humes, Bowe - multiple hits
(I'll update this if I forgot anyone -- we had several nice distractions tonight)

Plano West is a very, very good team -- better, at this point, than Martin and Coppell (in my mind). They hammered our top 2 pitchers tonight and deserve all the accolades that are coming their way. PW is worthy of their state ranking.

With that said, I think it's interesting to see you guys say that they didn't play good defense or have good pitching. Although that may be true, I think that was the case for East tonight as well. The Panthers did not get great pitching and made a few key errors. So, let's me realistic.....the West offense isn't going to score 19 each night and their defense isn't going to make 5 errors. Both are abnormalities. East isn't going to surrender 19 runs too often either. It was an unusual game.

Congratulations Wolves -- a very impressive night.

Nice to meet you and your family tonight, CS. Smile

Caught a few innings of the game and it was quite a game....both teams had lots of multiple base hits.

I think we could have had a quorum for a mini Texas forum reunion....lots of spectators
(and posters) from several schools.

PD .... it was nice to finely meet you and Mrs. PD. Both of you look too young to be grandparents. Wink

Planocatdad - nice to catch up with you and planocatson.

PD, you nailed it....well said.
I have to give West their props too as they can all hit well. I hope Holmes is alright, seemed to get nicked on a pitch and left the game later.

East needs to get their defense in order especially in the outfield to reduce the number of runs they give up right now. It was good to see the bats wake up although it was not enough to overcome the football like score of the game.

I gree the 9-5A road goes thru West this year.

A lot of the balls hit the other night during the PW vs. PE game would have been easy outs yesterday. The wind yesterday was exact opposite of the PE game on Wednesday...blowing hard straight in from right field.
tap the breaks there planofan, that is a very pedestrian score vs. an average, overrated team like Plano.

I wish I could have been their to see so I could better evaluate the teams. I what I have read and heard, Plano west is a very good hitting team and average pitching and defense. That doesn't take teams deep into playoffs!

Plano- improved decipline and fundementals, can't hit and pitching isn't good enough to take them past the first round.

1. PW
2. Allen
3. PE
4. PSH
5. Berkner
6. Wylie
7. Lake Highlands
8. Richardson
"their" shows possession as in "their team is over-rated" (just an example)

"there" indicates a location as in "you should've been there to properly evaluate" (another example)

dodger, your otherwise atrocious sentence structure and spelling are other matters for other times <-- all this with as little condescention as possible.

Big Grin

Oh, and both teams are pretty good if you ask me.
Old Codger - not trying to bully anyone. As I have posted my sentiments before - PLANO has been bad in the past - DO SOMETHING before you blow that Plano bugle. When is the last time Plano won a playoff game? I did say I am glad the program is on the rise but you can "bully" me when the season is over and Plano is the state champ or regional champs, or when Plano goes deeper than one round against quality teams. Good Luck !

Plano is still overrated FOR NOW - pure and simple.
I agree with T-Ball. Plano is young, and once they figure it out, ( and I promise you they will under Robertson) they will not lose games like they did at Plano West. That was a masterful game by Derek Davis, and one that should not have been lost. To many men left on third, with less that 2 outs.

That was an electric night of baseball. Big crowd, players yapping at each other........tied game in the 7Th.....GOOD STUFF!

And never said enough........Good Umps, that were really into the moment!

Planocatdad,

We can agree to disagree! My opinion of the yapping was that it began in the visitors dugout (I would not have posted this had you not come on here with your slanted post). My opinion PW was ripe for the taking but a few incidents motivated them. Don't get me wrong, Plano came out fighting from the very first pitch and played well and put presure on PW and could have very easily won the game.

I also think Coach Robertson showed class when he asked his dugout to cool the trash talking during our second pitchers warm-up pitches...really respected him for that. Not many HS coaches will take control like that.

I don't like trash talking..."act like you've been there before", "win with class, lose with class", etc.!!! By the way, this statement is meant for both sides.
Kirk,
Just having some fun here!

The West side was VERY loud. Meaning the peanut gallery. I assume it was all in fun.
Like I stated earlier, I agreed with PD. I wish there was no "yapping". But every game I have been to it seems to be protocol( even during infield warmups)

And yes I agree on the quotes you posted. I to heard. No place for that.

But you are right on........I wish there was just good old baseball played on the field with good sportsmanship! I think the boys were just pumped up, on both sides.

Did not mean to be slanted. Sorry got caught up in the moment!

Plano Fan, Why do you have to rush over to this website and post this info???

Until the district/UIL/? changes Plano West record, we are 20-1. Besides, 21-0 doesn't mean Plano West is any better, just as 20-1 doesn't mean They are not as good. Remember the New England Patriots, they lost only 1 game last year, but it was the most important game of the year!

Yeha you do pay for mistake pitches jake feckley got a combacker off his glove hand and desroyed his hand

I am sure the the whole PW team probably doesn't care if he was eligible or not. It stung just as bad because they still lost on the field. It's definitly an unfortunate situation for PW.
Keep in mind the double header with SLC was added to PW's schedule at the last minute to replace games from a rained out tournament. If PW had been trying to pad their record they could have easily passed on scheduling the games.

I am impressed they were willing to play top competition when they were sitting on a 10-0 record at the time. In the end, it makes you stronger to play tough teams .... those games will help them prepare for their playoff run.
