1. Do you think the 5 day break hurt the teams who got the bye? Two lost and we will see about Yankees today. Last year was a shorter break but pretty sure both teams lost.

2. Can the team with a bye use MiLB pitchers to throw live to hitters during the break? They are obviously using the break to rest pitchers on roster and bullpens to keep sharp but I would think they would want to find live at bats for hitters.

I do think the byes hurt although some of the teams with byes weren’t playing well going into the post season. Husband and I were just talking about what teams can do to stay sharp. We both thought scrimmages with AA/AAA guys would be an interesting option. You’d probably have to pull from Arizona Fall League rosters.

I've been saying the layoff hurt those teams.  You spend 6 months playing 5 to 6 days a week during that span and routine is imperative to baseball to stay sharp.  Half the bye teams lost and I think both bye teams lost last year (less time than this year).  I keep seeing people say the Braves had 4 days off last year and they did fine.  They also played the Brewers who were off the same amount of time too so that's a wash.

End of the day it's the system in place and if you want to win then go out and get it done.  But I'm curious to see if in like 5 years around 60% of the bye teams lose their series if this will get serious consideration unlike how it is now.

I would think using MiLB pitchers would be the best method to let hitters face but great point about pulling them from AFL to do so.  Plus they just had their seasons end and do you want to keep them going further after their own downtime before AFL started?

Should I go or should I resell?

I won the Philly World Series ticket sales lottery today and was able to buy 2 tickets for Game 5 next Wednesday at face value.  Assuming the Astros don't sweep in 4 games, should I sell the tickets on stubhub for $2K to $3K each or attend the game myself?  Its been a fun debate in my family chat-group today ... help me decide.

Assuming the seats are decent, the long range weather forecast isn't terrible and you're a big Philly fan, go.  Most of us can create opportunities to earn a couple grand or so if we really want to.  Chances to attend your team's WS game may be quite a bit more rare.  Years later, which will you remember most?

IMO, any meaning memory that last's a lifetime and doesn't involve lasting physical or emotional damage are our most valuable possessions. That being said, I'd sell the tickets because I don't have a horse in the race... lol.

Unless you can come up with something better to do with the money go to the game. You don’t know if you will ever get to go to a World Series game again.

1984 I considered renting out my condo for the Olympics and cruising Europe for two weeks. I stayed in town and went to two Olympic events per day. Despite all the money I spent it was a memorable time. Attending is one of the great athletic attendee moments of my life. Plus the beach was one big party for two weeks.

I had already been to Europe three times. I’ve been to Europe several times since without missing the Olympics.

Go!!!

I bought 4 tickets for game 3 after the Braves win, no risk money back if they didn't make the WS. My father, my 2 sons and I....don't think you could put price tag on it that I would sell for. That being said I could double my money now....I should have bought more in hindsight!!

It is Red October the entire tristate area is on fire! The Astros thought the NY fans were tough, LOL they have seen nothing yet.
