FBD-
First off let me say that I agree that the regionals where there are CPS teams (there are 4 that contain more than 10) are not as strong as some others, but what can you do?
Are you suggesting that we disperse all of the really bad CPS schools out to far off places like Larkin so all teams can get an easy win to start the playoffs? If the idiot Arne Duncan would have just let us keep our automatic bid we wouldn’t be in this mess.
What do you suggest we do? Check out the Niles West Sectional to see the definition of haves and have-nots. Maybe this will change when we go to 4 classes and some of these smaller CPS schools go down.
I want some of you guys who don’t like crazy pinball scores to settle down when you see some scores like 31-0, 37-1, 28-0 in the 1st round this year. There is no way that Sullivan should be competing in a baseball game with New Trier, it’s dangerous and pointless.
I wish everyone health and good luck entering the playoffs.

Keep working hard,

When the issue of dispersing teams throughout a significant geographical area comes up, in Southern Illinois, we have teams traveling over 2 and a half hours to play. Some on 2 lane roads without any possiblity of interstate. Still, the system works down here. This will be the last year for this 2 class system and, in fact, it has worked really well for us. Next year will be a real learning experience since many of the teams in our area will be below 4A. The only 4A schools will be from the Southwestern Conference. They will have to travel HOURS to find other opponents.

Per my team, we received the 9th seed. We will play Collinsville and they are having a very good season under their new coach. He has done very good things there. I will start another thread on what I think the 4 classes will mean next year since I don't want to hijack this thread. Oh, the #1 seed in our Regional is O'Fallon. The top 4 seeds are Belleville West (1), Edwardsville (2), Highland (3), and finally O'Fallon. We have a very tough row to hoe.

Roughly from I-80 north we are talking about. If they were planes, their proximity to each other would make any anti-aircraft gunner *** in his/her pants they are so close. The teams have to play the games no question about it. But the assignments from the IHSA are a flat out Joke for the schools in the Chicagoland area.

JMHO.
Had the 1st annual Intelligencer Tiger Classic this weekend. Friday's games were called off due to seeing funnel clouds around the diamonds! But on Saturday, Odorizzi pitched to Chatham and Highland won 2-0. Edwardsville also beat Chatham in the 9th inning! It was an exciting game. Jake O. earned the outstanding pitcher award for the tourney.
