Beckett and co. had Lofton and friends fuming in futility last night! I am amazed with Mannys uncanny eye for strikes and hitting genius, and I'm astounded with his childlike actions on the field and on the base paths!
When a home run fence is topped with the plastic 4" yellow pipe and the ball hits the top of that and bounces back in the ball is still in play, if it bounces on over it's a home run. The umpires made the correct call, it was a great hit and some bad base running.
Still trying to figure out why he felt the need to flip his helmet off as he rounded 3rd when he was thrown out at the plate?

IB, thats why Mastny and Betancourt struck him out looking??

Manny is a great hitter, but this game was all about JB. He frustrated the hitters. What a talent that kid is.

My take was Tribe in 6, and still is.

I'm expecting Schilling to give his all as he did last time out. He must execute his pitches, but if Boston doesn't hit, as they did not in a couple of games, and they move away from their game plan of laying off dirt balls and working the count, then it won't matter what he does. Carmona will always be tough, but will always work out of the strike zone or bottom of it. Discipline and execution will win the next one and all games beyond that.

Eventually somebody other than JB needs to win Wink

Fenway Park...Saturday Night. Expect the unexpected. Look for some sort of crazy fan-snagged ground rule double to save a run or two.

Red Sox 6
Indians 4

Who says Cleveland Sports are JINXED

http://ech.case.edu/ech-cgi/article.pl?id=CC11

Cleveland continued its tear in the NPSL when it defeated the Kansas City Attack in a best of five series to clinch the title again in the 1995-1996 season. The team won the title again in 1999, beating the St. Louis Ambush in the championship series. Between 1992 and 2000, the Crunch won three NPSL titles, six conference titles and five division championships. The backbone of the Crunch's success in the 1990s included the all-time NPSL career scoring leader and six time league MVP, Hector Marinaro, and the all time NPSL assists leader, Zoran Karic. Andy Schmetzer, Tommy Tanner and goalkeeper Otto Orf were also standouts as the Crunch laid claim to being one of the best teams in the NPSL in the 1990s.

Most of us think he could have scored. If he had, that inning could have ended up drastically different. You never know then what could have happened to the momentum on both sides. May have very likely effected outcome.

Congrats to the Indians and the Red Sox though on a fun seven games. Smile
