Game 1 at Marcus vs Southlake at 7:30 Thurs. May 3rd
Game 2 at Southlake vs Marcus at 4:00 Fri. May 4th
Game 3 at Grapevine High School at 1:00 Sat. May 5th
if needed.

Gm 2 early start due to Carroll baseball field has no lights, for those who do not know.

I personally would like both the FM vs Coppell series and the Marcus vs Southlake series go three, and I will be making it a day at Grapevine to watch both!
Game 2: Colleyville Heritage @ Midlothian postponed.

Game 2 to be played at Midlothian if field is playable followed by a game 3, if necessary.

If Midlothian fields are unplayable game 2 will be played at Colleyville at 1300 followed by a game 3,if necessary.

If Colleyville fields are unplayable game 2 will be played at Highland Park at 1500 followed by a game 3,if necessary.

Congrats to TC Byron Nelson on winning the series vs 6-4A Champion and #1 seed Fort Worth Western Hills.

Pitching was the major reason allowing only a combined 6 hits and 3 runs in 2 games to a team averaging alot more than that all year. Timely hitting for Nelson put the games out of reach in the later innings.

Western Hills coming in as the top seed and first district title since 1999 played poorly in the field and lacked consistent hitting throughout both games. Western Hills has 3 players as of now moving on to play at the next level each with multiple years of varsity experience but couldn't come through in this series.

Byron Nelson with face the winner of Crowley/Waco Univ in which Crowley has a one game lead heading into the noon game today followed by a third game if necessary. Good Luck to the Bobcats in the 2nd round and best of luck to all the outgoing seniors of Western Hills, a season to remember.

Wow, what happened to Heath and Jake Thompson last night? Frisco finished fourth in their district and shut out the mighty first place Heath boys. I bet those Heath dads are squirming in their seats today. Heath is out of pitching. Gibbs owned Thompson last night, 3-3.

Gibbs had a great night, but Heath is far from eliminated... Baxter is as good as anybody else's #1.
Whoever you are luvtxball:
Nothing happened to Thompson and Heath. He had a subpar game on a night that he and his teammates did not hit. Why do you think that something happened? They were flat and played a poor game. Period. I thought that happens sometimes when human beings are involved. The fact that Heath won the other two games, both run rules, by a combined score of 27-2 illustrates the fact that Friday night was an aberration.

Big train - and you know who you are! WOW, thanks for the support of your son's teammates. "they decided not to hit"? Are you kidding me? Do you think they team got together before the game and said "hey let's not hit tonight". "they were flat and played a poor game". Sounds like sour grapes when THEY did did not give Jake the run support!
These are young men who are not always going to be successful at every turn in the road. Nobody expects them to be. Jake has established himself with his ability and play over his high school career. There's no need for anyone to defend him or make excuses. He will go on to great things despite a loss in the first round of the playoffs. Get over it.

Thanks, baseballdad13,

Class shown by both quality clubs. My kid was pulled up from JV for the playoffs, but only pinch runs. It might have been a different series if FWWH had tightened up the "D" a little, but you could see the quality of the players. Good luck to the guys playing in college and the rest moving on to the rest of their lives. I didn't see the ugliness from the parents and players in these clubs that is being described in the other series here...thank goodness!
Perhaps my wording was wrong. We played poorly. Period. But we redeemed ourselves today. I just do not understand why the original post calls out my kid. That is not fair. He was not playing by himself. Had we scored the runs for him that we posted in games 1 and 3 then this would never have been mentioned. The implication is that he lost the game otherwise the poster would have cited who booted balls or who did not get hits with men on base. It is not right and i could care less what anyone thinks. I have not mentioned any pitcher's name on here that he has gone 3-3 against. Explain to me why it is okay to do my kid and I will accept it. I do not see anyone mentioning other pitchers by name on here when they lost their first game of the year. A very good pitcher for a prominent 4A team got shelled today but his team made a miracle rally and he avoided the L. Go figure. His name isn't Thompson so no one says a word. You people are unreal.

My son's high school career is over and he plays in 7 5a. They lost to a very good 8 5a team of which some of the guys played with him during the summer. After the game most of the players cried in the locker room because they really gave it their all. In all honesty had they won the game or the series they would have eventually lost in the next round or the round after that. Fortunately for my son he will have the opportunity to play d1 ball for a school in Texas. But for most of the players their career is over. It has been a great ride. But you know what I won't miss is the pettines, small mindness, self promoting, old boy network, trifiling, enviouss and overbearing parents that I have witness over the last # years. We all know who those folks are. As Rodney King said over 20 years ago " can we all just get along".

For those players who are moving on I wish you the best. For all of those other players who are moving on to other things besides baseball I also wish you the best. Congratulations to all of the players who had the opportunity to play this great game. You are blessed.
I think we all agree that Rockwall Heath is a great team, and JT is one of the best players around. I don't believe this forum was created for the intent of everyone to bag on each other. Let the boys play and if you have an issue, handle it among yourselves. BTW - Congrads to CHS Titans, great team from top to bottom, well deserved victory this weekend. I can't wait to see them in a series against Heath. I hope both teams win this weekend.

Totally agree with Cacherz_Dad here. Thompson's numbers speak for themselves and every game is different in baseball. Although I don't know Thompson personally, my son receives the same kind of criticism when he doesn't meet the standards some have set for him and believe me, all eyes are on these high profile players, some just waiting for an opportunity to criticize them. These guys will continue to do well long after they are out of high school...so yes, get over it! Good luck to all the teams that have moved on to 2nd round!
Agree with 15s mom. I have heard nothing but good things about this kid. He is a phenomenal player, and deserves everything he has earned. So as an adult please do not criticize him or any other kid. However you may feel about his father it is not fair to this kid to pass those feelings onto him. Jake I wish you the best even though I do not know you.
