Hello fellas, my name is Sean and I'm new on here and I have a couple of questions, if ya'll could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a rising senior in school and I've been to the showcase thing and played on the travel ball clubs and what have not.

I've gotten some interest from some colleges and I need some advice please.

I'll start off with Jacksonville University, I sent out my letter of interest and all that. The assistant coach sent an e-mail to me telling me to call him. Well I do and we talk and stuff and that was pretty much it until I see him at a showcase and I introduce myself and it is all good. I haven't talked to him since and it's been about 1 1/2 months since the showcase. I've talked about going for a visit and watching one of their games, but never found the funds to go.

I get my first call from Wake Forest after the July 1st date. We talk and he sends me a packet to fill out and I do promptly.

My last one is from Methodist University. They send me a packet and I send it back promptly of course. They send me another packet telling me about the program and such and asking me to come and take a visit and watch a game and meet the players.

Here's my question. Is it out of line to call or e-mail them asking for an official visit? Me and my family simply don't have the money to make these trips on my own. I'm really interested with Wake Forest and Jacksonville being that their D-I colleges. I don't want to turn them off by asking for an official visit. I just don't have the money and I'm concerned about this. If I can't visit them, I feel like I'm falling behind in this race.

Sorry for this being so long and once again, thanks for the input.

TR,
I wasn't aware that schools had a limited number of visits they could offer. Is this NCAA regulated or more of a school by school budget matter?
TRhit is right; there is an institutional limitation for D1 colleges. For baseball, the limit is 25 official visits per calendar year (Aug 1 to July 31), except service academies can provide 31. (13.6.2.6)

I'm not aware of an institutional limitation for D2 colleges.

D1 may provide a waiver which allows more than 25 visits if there has been extraordinary personnel losses or in some instances of a head coaching change.
