Why do kids quit baseball?

Obviously, smaller teams than lacrosse and s***** make it more difficult to make the high school team. But, I also believe that there is something else.

When playing lacrosse and s***** it is easy to hide mistakes (unless you are the goalie). How easy is it to hide a mistake when you overthrow a base? Miss a groundball? Strike out looking? Or, get tagged out when stealing?

Baseball players have to take responsibility for their mistakes and this is difficult for kids today when we don't allow them to learn from their mistakes.

Where we live, kids turn to lacrosse and s*****when the going gets tough in baseball. Go to a lacrosse or s***** game and you will never see the parents or players as stressed as you will at a baseball game!! I know, I've been there and my kid was the lacrosse goalie!

You make some great points---

Another aspect--lacrosse is mainly an East Coast sport so it truly does not impact the entire country

I grew up on Long Island where lacrosse is G O D--In fact isaw the great Jim Brown play lacrosse in HS--he was the meanest thing I ever saw on an athletic field

my opinions are not based on a scientific study or anything like that, but ...

it has nothing to do with field size ...

as younsters they get involved in what their parents sign them up for. when they get older the parents are less involved and are basicly "tuned out" anyway during the teenage yrs. also, hormones get them thinking more about girls & the things that go with dating, like $$, clothes, cars, & parties.

oh ... I appologize in advance for the racist views RR will somehow find in my post
