My understanding is that they just don't have the personnel to handle the influx of early applications. Last year most schools had record number of early applicants putting a great deal of pressure on admissions departments.
Harvard's official statement is that early admissions gives advantage to the advantaged.....and works against minority enrollemnt.....and/or the disadvantaged......
Personally, I never liked the fact that most early admission programs required the student to withdraw all applications from other universities. That is a one way street in the favor of the university with the early admission program.
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
